For the 1st Time in School History the Margaretta Girls Golf team is sending someone to the State Tournament! Ellyse Schaefer fired an 82 to finish 3rd in the Division II District Golf Tournament at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay. Ellyse fired a 41 on the front which included 6 pars, a bogey and two double bogeys. On the back, Ellyse had six bogeys, and two pars. The biggest shots of the day came on hole 16, and was the difference in the day for her. Ellyse made a birdie putt, to put her in position with to qualify for STATE with several golfers still on the course. After waiting it out, Ellyse firmly held onto her position while the fourth and final spot was claimed by a Delphos Jefferson golfer. Ellyse will golf on Monday, and Tuesday at the Heatherwoode Golf Course in Springboro, Ohio outside the Dayton area. Ellyse will have a practice round on Sunday before competing in 18 holes Monday and another 18 holes on Tuesday.
