The final high school football state poll was released by the Associated Press on Tuesday.
Margaretta, which finished the season 9-1 overall and outright champions of the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division, was ranked No. 2 in Division VI.
The Polar Bears moved up two spots after grinding out a 9-6 win over Gibsonburg last Friday.
Margaretta finished as the No. 1 seed in 22. The Polar Bears were awarded a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Margaretta will host the winner of Patrick Henry (8-2), which was No. 15 in this week's poll, and Carey (6-4) on Nov. 7.
Margaretta's biggest win of the regular season came Oct. 3 when it traveled to Bascom and defeated Hopewell-Loudon. The Chieftains were ranked No. 4 in the final poll and are the No. 2 seed in Region 22. H-L has a bye and if seeds hold all the way, could face Margaretta at a neutral site in the regional championship game.
