JUDAH KELLER NAMED SBC RIVER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Senior two way standout Judah Keller was named Unanimous Sandusky Bay Conference River Division Player of the Year today by the SBC Coaches. Judah has gotten it done both offensively and defensively this year helping the Polar Bears to their league championship since 2001, and first outright league championship since 1996. Margaretta will host their first playoff game since 2002 when the Carey Blue Devils come to town on Friday night. Keller leads the team in rushing this year with 1,027 yards on 116 carries. He is averaging 102.7 yards per game and 8.6 yards per rush. Judah has also scored a team high 15 rushing touchdowns. One of his biggest plays on offense this year came in week 10 when the Polar Bears faced a 4th and 8 at the 20 yard line with under a minute to play against Gibsonburg trailing 6-2. Senior Quarterback Jake Bouy found Keller about 3 yards short of the 1st down marker, however Judah was able to make a man miss, and dragged 3 other Golden Bears to the 2 yard line. The catch and run set up the game winning touchdown that clinched the Polar Bears an outright SBC River Championship and the #1 seed in Division VI Region 22. If you ask Judah himself though, he will tell you his favorite part of football is the defensive side of the ball because he loves to HIT! Judah leads the Polar Bears in tackles with 119. He also leads the team in sacks with 3.5 for the season. Judah has 4 interceptions this year which also leads the Green & White and returned on of those interceptions for a touchdown. In the week 10 win over Gibsonburg, Judah Keller set the school record for most career tackles. He now sits at 379 career tackles.
