LADY BEARS FINISH STRONG, IMPROVE TO 8-0
Margaretta Rolls Past Edison, 50–10
EDISON — Margaretta used stifling defense and balanced scoring to cruise past Edison, 50–10, on December 22.
The Polar Bears took control early, holding Edison to just three points in the opening quarter while building a 7–3 lead. Margaretta continued to apply pressure in the second quarter, outscoring Edison 12–4 to take a 19–7 advantage into halftime.
Any doubt was erased in the third quarter, as Margaretta erupted for 20 points while limiting Edison to just two. The surge pushed the lead to 39–9 and effectively put the game out of reach.
Margaretta closed the game with an 11–1 fourth quarter, emptying the bench and finishing off the 40-point victory.
Cassidy Lane led all scorers with 14 points, while Elyse Schaefer added nine. Renna Keller and Kenadie Saylor each scored seven, as Margaretta received scoring contributions from nine different players.
Edison struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the game only scoring four field goals.
Margaretta improved its season momentum with the win as they are now 8-0 (3-0 in the SBC Bay). They set up a massive showdown on Saturday when they travel to Bellevue to face the undefeated & reigning State Champions.
