LADY BEARS HIT 11 THREES & DRILL HURON

The Margaretta Lady Bears knocked down 11 three-pointers Tuesday night to cruise past Huron, 69–26, in SBC Bay Division action. Margaretta wasted no time taking control, erupting for 26 first-quarter points while draining seven shots from beyond the arc. Lillian Belak caught fire early, burying three straight three-pointers on her way to 11 points, while Ashlyn Kingsborough, Ellyse Schaefer, and Kenadie Saylor each added one triple in the opening frame. The Lady Bears continued to stretch the lead in the second quarter, connecting on two more threes from Kingsborough and Ellyse Schaefer to carry a commanding 44–18 advantage into halftime. Margaretta kept the pressure on in the third quarter, outscoring Huron 15–4. Ellyse Schaefer knocked down another three, and Cassidy Lane scored six of her 10 points in the quarter to help put the game further out of reach. With the running clock in effect in the fourth quarter, Kenadie Saylor provided the finishing touches, scoring seven of her 14 points and hitting Margaretta’s final three-pointer of the night as the Lady Bears sealed the dominant conference victory. The Lady Wildcats enter the matchup at 9–5 and riding a four-game winning streak. Newark is led by a talented trio of guards, highlighted by Calli Geller, who averages over 18 points per game. The junior has already surpassed the 1,000-point milestone and is committed to Ashland University.
