Margaretta Pulls Away in Second Half to Defeat Old Fort 71-53 OLD FORT — Margaretta broke open a competitive first half with a decisive third quarter Tuesday night, pulling away for a 71-53 victory over Old Fort. The Polar Bears led 15-13 after the opening quarter before edging ahead 32-23 at halftime. Margaretta then delivered its strongest stretch after the break, outscoring Old Fort 21-13 in the third quarter to build a 53-36 advantage entering the fourth. The Polar Bears closed the game with an 18-17 edge in the final period to seal the 18-point win. Keiygan Morris added a team-high 20 points, providing consistent scoring production throughout the night. Tyson Bailey had 19 points and was a disruptive force defensively with four steals. Judah Keller finished with 18 points, knocking down shots from the perimeter while contributing across the stat sheet. Keller also added four assists, three rebounds and three steals. Julian Washington scored eight points, grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and dished out 11 assists to direct the Polar Bears’ offense. Washington and Keller combined for 15 assists as Margaretta consistently created high-percentage opportunities. Margaretta’s defensive pressure played a key role, particularly in the third quarter when the Polar Bears created separation outscoring Old Fort 21-13. Bailey and Keller combined for seven steals, helping turn defense into transition points. The Polar Bears finish the regular season 19-3. They will be back in action next Friday night as they host a Sectional Final. They will play the winner of the Edison/Oak Harbor game inside the Iceberg at 7:00pm.
