BASEBALL KNOCKS OFF WILLARD 7-1
Margaretta Varsity Polar Bears easily dispatched Willard Varsity Flashes on Monday, 7-1.
Margaretta Varsity Polar Bears got on the board in the top of the first inning after Hunter Grahl walked, and Memphis McKenzie hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Margaretta Varsity Polar Bears added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Carter Kelley doubled down the left field line, and Mason Kromer was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Kromer earned the win for Margaretta Varsity Polar Bears. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. Dalton Reed took the loss for Willard Varsity Flashes. The starter went seven innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on four hits, striking out six and walking six.
