The Margaretta girls golf team has shown plenty of progress over its last three matches, highlighted by a pair of top-four finishes in its most recent competitions. In the first of the three matches, Margaretta finished 13th at the Woodmore Invitational with a team score of 434. Ellynah Schaefer led the Polar Bears with a 95, followed by Kailey Fowler with 105, Lillian Kimball with 115 and Olivia Brown with 119. Evelyn Jacoby shot 126, while Miranda Mey finished with 132. Margaretta followed that performance with a strong showing at the Gibsonburg SBC Shootout, finishing third with a 211. Schaefer and Fowler led the way, each shooting a 45, followed by Kimball with 57 and Jacoby with 64. The Polar Bears finished just 23 strokes behind champion Woodmore. The Polar Bears then competed at the Danbury SBC Shootout, where they placed fourth with a 226. Schaefer again paced Margaretta with a 47, while Fowler carded 52, Kimball shot 58 and Jacoby finished with 69.
