Margaretta Dominates Ottawa Hills, Secures Another Home Game The Margaretta football team entered Friday night needing a victory to guarantee its seniors one more game at home, and the Polar Bears wasted little time making it happen at The Duck Pond. On the very first play of the game, senior quarterback Robbie LaCourse connected with senior Kale Bailey for a 77-yard touchdown, giving Margaretta an immediate 7-0 lead. The Polar Bears continued to build momentum as the returning All-Ohio linebacker and running back Tyson Bailey found the end zone twice in the first quarter. Margaretta carried a commanding 22-0 lead into the second quarter. The Polar Bears continued to pour it on in the second quarter, with LaCourse and Mason Reinbolt each adding short touchdown runs. Margaretta took a 35-0 advantage into halftime after a dominant first-half performance on both sides of the ball. Senior Carter Luzader added the final touchdown early in the third quarter, while senior Jaxon Shearn capped off the scoring with a 43-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter. While the offense provided plenty of fireworks, the Margaretta defense delivered an equally impressive performance. The Polar Bears held Ottawa Hills without a first down until the Green Bears' final drive of the game, which came with fewer than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. With the victory, Margaretta secured another opportunity to play in front of its home crowd. Preliminary playoff projections indicate the Polar Bears could host former Sandusky Bay Conference rival Port Clinton next Friday night at The Duck Pond in a Division playoff first-round matchup. The official playoff brackets will be finalized Sunday afternoon. The postseason appearance marks the fourth consecutive year Margaretta has qualified for the playoffs and the second straight season the Polar Bears are projected to host a first-round playoff game.
